Louisville Sailing Club Sunfish Fleet 213 Regatta
The Louisville Sailing Club invites you to the Tenth Annual Sunfish Pumpkin Regatta. The Louisville Sailing Club is looking forward to hosting this event; the Ohio River and Louisville winds can prove challenging like all other inland venues and skill levels. Last year’s regatta was a great success other than the lack of wind on Saturday. Hopefully the wind will return, and we’ll have a great turn out. With large fleet and great wind there is a large variety of skill levels and always someone to race.
Louisville Sailing Club offers a great venue for regattas; Having previously hosted the Internationals, Reginal and Local Regattas with success. Located in a metro area, the club is close to hotels, restaurants, and grocery stores. The race venue is immediately in front of the club, no long sails or tows out to the course, easy shore access between racing, and great viewing from shore. The club offers camping on site, or very close hotel options. Louisville offers many other attractions while not on the water, from the close by Bourbon trail, to horse racing history.
In person registration starts at 10, and first race will start at one o’clock and no race will start after four. Dinner and beverages will be available when all the boats are put away. Breakfast will be available Sunday morning and racing will resume at 10 (wind permitting), last start no later than one. Leftovers and awards after racing scores are tallied. Pre-registration is available at Events on the LSC Website Louisville Sailing Club - 10th Annual Jim McBee Sunfish Pumpkin Regatta. Cost is 45 at preregistration, 55 dollars the day of the regatta; guest meals are 20 dollars.
The Sunfish Pumpkin Regatta will be a two-day regatta that will provide competition regardless of your experience level. We hope to have thirty boats on the line. There are five club sunfish available on a first come bases. Please contact Eugene Cox (
