About the Author

Vikram grew up in Bandra, back when Linking Road was the entire scene and SoBo felt like a different city. He's watched Mumbai nightlife evolve through three decades—the disco era, the lounge era, the current thing where nobody knows what to call it but there's more happening than ever. He writes about it for AllEvents: the comedy shows that sold out before anyone was paying attention, the live music venues in Lower Parel, the Bollywood parties that tourists go to and locals avoid (and the ones locals actually go to), the food festivals, the open mics, the rooftop bars that charge too much but have views that justify it. Mumbai's nightlife is spread across a city that takes two hours to cross on a good day. Vikram knows which neighborhoods are worth the commute and which ones aren't. He knows which clubs enforce dress codes and which ones don't actually care. He's got relationships with every promoter and venue manager because that's what twenty years of this gets you. He takes locals and autos, lives in Khar now, and writes guides that acknowledge Mumbai is exhausting but argue it's worth it anyway. It is. He'll prove it.
