Daniel Osei
London
Nightlife & Music Editor, AllEvents London

About the Author

Daniel's been in London for twenty-three years, which means he's been complaining about how much it's changed for about twenty-two of them. The complaints are justified. He keeps going out anyway. He covers nightlife for AllEvents: the live music venues that survived the licensing crackdowns, the comedy clubs that turned Soho into a scene, the festivals in Victoria Park and Finsbury Park and wherever else they can get permits, the food festivals that take over Southbank, the parties in railway arches that technically shouldn't be happening but absolutely are. Daniel came up writing for music magazines that don't exist anymore—the usual story. He landed at AllEvents because someone needs to document what's actually happening in this city beyond the tourist guides and the obvious choices. The jazz nights in Dalston. The open mics in Brixton. The things that make London actually interesting if you know where to look. He takes the Tube everywhere, lives in Peckham, and has spent two decades building relationships with venue owners, promoters, and the booking agents who decide what you're going to see. His guides are long because London weekends are full. He doesn't apologize for that either.
