Hello my friends! I know it’s been a few years since we’ve had our Jog Your Memory Alzheimer’s event. It’s definitely been difficult with Covid hanging around and not getting the sponsorships we need to make it happen. This is how we get our T-shirts, award/medals and pay the timing group. And if you were with us for our very first event, you remember what a mess it was timing the event ourselves.
😳 But, nonetheless, we did it.
Remember, you don’t have to compete in the 5K run, you can also walk it or participate in the one mile non-competitive walk.
I’ve still got a lot of planning to do.
I also look for small or self owned businesses to come set up at the event to not only help the cause but to help them as well. If you’d like to donate a small portion of what you make that day, you’re welcome to but it’s not required.
Please share, this is so important to me and so many that we spread awareness for this horrible disease.
While there are several different types of Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease is the most common. Alzheimer's is a specific brain disease. It is marked by symptoms of dementia that gradually get worse over time. Alzheimer's disease first affects the part of the brain associated with learning, so early symptoms often include changes in memory, thinking and reasoning skills.
Remember, Dementia doesn’t care how old you are, Early Onset age is growing.
The 2025 Jog Your Memory Alzheimer’s 5K will be Saturday September 13, 2025. The 5K will begin at the Prestonsburg Municipal parking lot at 155 North Lake Drive in Prestonsburg at the city stage at 10:00 am.
