Well a good number of photographers arrived on an overcast day in North Berwick on the 19th of July where there was a lot going on. ( yep and at times rain coming down!! ) anyway that didn’t dampen the spirits and we set about marching around the town with our cameras set to take shots at 50mm focal length
Now its the time to show what we took and have a coffee and chat about the day and the challenge
So the challenge was to capture a shot or two that fell loosely into one of the following titles.
"Summer in North Berwick"
Or
"That Postcard shot”
POINTS TO NOTE -
1) Images can be submitted in colour or Black and White or anything in between.
2) Although the focal length was to be 50mm photographers could have had their cameras on different aspect ratio so it will be acceptable to crop after all horizons need straightening.
3) In the end we didn’t get a massive amount of photographers on the day so photographers can submit up to 3 printed images and up to 3 digital images which will be projected.
4) We would appreciate the images being submitted three weeks before the event so we can collate everything. However you can submit as soon as you like. Get in touch with Musselburgh Camera Club so we can arrange photo submissions
5) It would be great if the photographers name, image title (if one) and club ( if photographer belongs to one ) could be placed small in the bottom right hand corner of the image. As there will now be a prize offered we will need to know who’s shots are who’s.
6) Shots can be submitted as a printed sheet of a size between A4-A3 with NO mount. However they can have a printed border made to look like a mount so it can present the image in a way you like. Images will be left up as a mini exhibition in Fisherrow centre for a couple of weeks
7) There will be no losers only winners as this will be a celebration of 50mm photography and the fun of taking and enjoying photos. Having said that on the day coffee morning day we will let attendees vote for the photo they like the best. So it does not matter about the technical merit of the shot it’s just the one you like. The printed image with the most votes by the end of the morning will get a £50 gift voucher. Sorry no prize for a digital image.
8) Shots presented digitally in a slide show during the day but will not be left up in the exhibition.
