Join us for our first concert of experimental music played on old instruments: voices, flute, portative organ, and medieval fiddle (vielle).

The word "Exstasis" (latin) means a state of being "outside oneself" or outside of normal consciousness. A state of being that is not self-enclosed but is "outside itself" in its relationship to the world. This concert series aims to feature music that is somehow outside or beside itself, wrapping around the space and audience. Resonant, longing, unfading, strange.

Improvising duo Lizzy Welsh and Jess Aszodi : “Amarant”

Experimental takes on Hildegard von Bingen’s Canticles of Ecstasy by James Rushford and Jess Aszodi

New work for flutes, objects and audience participation by Jodie Rottle

Sonic choreographies by the "Somatic choir"
