An informative presentation to help understand trauma and its effects.

Author and retired substance abuse counselor, David Pope, will lead this presentation covering a range of topics related to trauma:
• Defining trauma and differentiating between types of traumatic experiences.
• Understanding the trauma response and its interconnectedness with addiction, generational abuse, depression, and anxiety.
• Exploring the physical, emotional, and spiritual impacts of trauma.
• Providing guidance on how to support individuals dealing with trauma.
• Reviewing common myths about trauma.
• Offering strategies for developing healthy responses.

About the Speaker

David Pope is an experienced author and retired substance abuse counselor with extensive knowledge of trauma and its effects on individuals and communities. David worked as a licensed mental health/addiction therapist in Nebraska, Iowa, and Arizona throughout a forty-year career. He has Master’s Degrees in Human Relations and Christian Counseling. He’s also been a leader in several Celebrate Recovery groups and is the author of How Can I Help You: Basic Helping Skills For Christians.
