More outstanding young Boston musical talent at HVCD in October with The Star Charters and calling by Qwill Duvall. This will be an unforgettable dance.
Cecilia Vacanti (of Kingfisher) and Jess Newman and Mark Price (of Cojiro) are the high energy, dynamic trio known as The Star Charters. With Cecilia and Jess on fiddle and Mark on guitar, The Star Charters bring to the stage a rock-solid groove and a level of technical prowess that is complemented by their combined versatility, lyrical twin fiddle harmonies and joyful, off-the-cuff improvisation. This bopping team-up will send dancers over the moon!
Caller Qwill has been touring nationally since 2023 — primarily along the East Coast, but also bringing their dynamic calling to the Midwest and the West Coast. Qwill brings an upbeat, playful energy to every dance, making the experience both welcoming and exciting. With clear, relaxed teaching and an eye for the skill level in the room, they keep dancers engaged — whether with creative choreography, unusual figures, or simply a well-chosen, satisfying dance. Expect a fun, inclusive atmosphere where beginners feel supported, experienced dancers stay intrigued, and everyone leaves smiling.

(Note: if you attended the HVCD dance in September, you may have noticed that the floor was sticky. HVCD has purchased shoe covers that cover part of the front of the shoe for purchase at cost.)

Sliding scale admission $15-$20, or $7-$10 for students
Come with a friend, a group or come solo -- experienced or not, all are welcome! Contra is aerobic, so wear layers and expect to shed a few layers as you warm up!
Please bring snacks or beverages to share at break.
