Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches: Surprisingly Great Pets!

Join Bennett Wilcox, local expert on Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, and his mother, Kathy Wilcox, for an hour of surprise and wonder as they share with you their journey from fear of cockroaches as pests to raising "hissers" as fun and interesting pets. During this presentation, you'll be able to see these gentle giants up close, and even touch or hold one (with parent or guardian permission). You'll learn about how these fascinating insects live in social communities; have individual personalities; eat the same kinds of foods that we do (they love sweet potatoes!); bond with specific humans, and more!
