Farewell to Market Street – Maple Run Emporium Moves to the West Coast and expands online sales with a new website.
After 14 years on Market Street, Maple Run Emporium is closing its downtown Potsdam location and beginning a new chapter as an online store based in the Puget Sound region of Washington State.
Since opening in 2011, the shop has been a community favorite, known for maple specialties, gourmet foods, topnotch cookware, knives, kitchen and dining linens, and an Artisan Gallery featuring locally made pottery, wood turnings, and paintings.
Founder Mary Hilton invites the community to join her for a Farewell Week Celebration at the Market Street shop from October 13 through October 18. This is a chance to stop by, share memories, and say goodbye to the space that has welcomed so many over the years. The shop will feature a closeout sale during Farewell Week that includes deep discounts on merchandise, fixtures, furnishings, and display units.
Mary reflects, “I love this shop and enjoy every single day being here. What has made it special are the people — I know so many of my customers and their families by first name. The Farewell to Potsdam week is my way of saying thank you and goodbye to Market Street and my wonderful clientele. We can still stay connected though through my social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Pinterest, and YouTube.
“I also want to thank the wonderful artists who honored the shop and me by selling their work in the shop’s gallery. And I owe a big thank you to the maple producers and other specialty vendors who supplied the shop with outstanding goods all these years.”
The new west coast location includes an office, distribution and shipping area, photography sets, and access to a storefront for pop-up sales. Maple Run Emporium’s current website will be re-vamped to show an expanded selection of new products, as well as the return of many signature products including scents, sauces, and spreads.
Maple Run Emporium is located at 49 Market Street in Potsdam. Fall Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Shoppers can browse and purchase products anytime at www.maplerunemporiums.com.
