Join Karen Douglas and the Library's Knit and Natter group to create a beautful new textile wall hanging celebrating the heritage and culture of Portrush!

Karen is a textile artist passionate about connecting with people and their stories through textiles. She will help you use embroidery techniques and appliqué to make a square textile piece reflecting your own personal story of Portrush. No stitching skills are required, Karen will teach you everything you need to know.

You'll be making your piece with recycled/reclaimed fabric, so bring some scraps of your own if you'd like to include them - anything can be used.

The individual squares will be made over the course of two workshops, on 7th and 13th October, and then pieced together to create a wall hanging. The final piece will be displayed in Portrush Library for everyone to admire and reflect upon for years to come.
