Seana McCarthy is a writer and illustrator based in Hampton, New Hampshire. She has been drawing since she can remember, but took on the role of illustrator in 2018 while designing cover art for local Boston musicians. During this time, she taught an after-school writing program in Mattapan and Charlestown, Massachusetts with a fellow artist. It was here that her love for words truly developed while understanding the impact of them.
Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries such as “A Pleasant Shoppe” in downtown Portsmouth and coffee shops throughout Derry, NH. She self-published her very first illustrated book, “Faery Herbology: Hidden in Plant Sight,” in 2020 and since then, has been diligently working on both a children’s book and her debut poetry book titled “It’s Dark in Here” (release date to be announced).
Megan Leonard (she/they) is the author of LARKSPUR QUEEN (Broadstone Books, 2025) and BOOK OF LULLABIES (Milk & Cake Press, 2020); a third collection, a hybrid paper-art and poetry book, will be available from Milk & Cake Press in 2026. Meg is the founder of The Writing Mentors, an organization that helps connect writers with creative development and publication. Meg is a visual artist and writer, and themes in her work often include disability and chronic illness, mental illness, madness, creepy little fairytales, and motherhood. She resides in Portsmouth and is a long-time fan of the Hoot.
