About the film:

Four friends. One GPS scavenger hunt. An abandoned U.S. military facility hidden in the depths of a German forest. When strange cloud formations gather overhead and their phones start glitching, they know something is very wrong. Only their friendship can help them uncover the truth.

Celebrate the end of the year with us and our very own 'Jugendsünde' (youthful folly) LOST PLACE! Something completely different from our current film LEONORA IN THE MORNING LIGHT, which will have its British theatrical release this spring. Anatole Taubman (the Bond villain from 'Quantum of Solace') is utterly convincing, delivering a tour-de-force performance as a (possibly unhinged?) scientist and conspiracy theorist. Germany's first 3D mystery thriller in Dolby Atmos captivates not just with its fascinating premise, but especially through its claustrophobic atmosphere and impressive technical craftsmanship.(filmstarts.de)

About the Q&A guests:

LENA VURMA & THOR KLEIN are an award-winning filmmaking duo who met at the prestigious German Film and Television Academy (dffb) in Berlin, and have worked and lived together ever since.

Their first feature film, the 3D mystery thriller Lost Place, emerged fresh from film school and was distributed by Warner Bros. in Germany. They went on to create Adventures of a Mathematician (2020), a German-Polish-British co-production about mathematician Stan Ulam, which earned Vurma the highest Young Producer Award in Germany by VGF.

Currently, the duo are touring the world with their third feature film collaboration, Leonora in the Morning Light, a lush biographical drama about surrealist artist Leonora Carrington, ahead of its UK theatrical release in spring 2026.

In February 2022, Vurma and Klein founded Skye Community Cinema and in 2025 won Film Society of the Year, beating over 1,600 venues across the UK.

Our collaboration with Skyeskyns is back! Very happy we have the sheep fleeces back on our chairs for a comfy seating in the colder months :)
