You’re invited to join Defend Our Health and Island Press for our webinar Defend Our Health: Authors & Friends on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 1 PM ET.
Our third conversation will feature Dr. Beth Sawin, author of Multisolving: Creating Systems Change in a Fractured World. Dr. Beth Sawin has dedicated her career to the theory and practice of creating change in complex systems and coined the term multisolving. She has seen multisolving build solidarity between diverse groups, overcome powerful interests, and create lasting change that benefits us all. In this way, her book offers an approachable foundational framework for recognizing and practicing multisolving. It provides a “deep” view of multisolving that includes systems thinking and a commitment to equity. Dr. Sawin hopes that you can see yourself in these pages and reflect upon how you are part of a broader movement and community.
For this conversation, Dr. Sawin will be joined by Defend Our Health’s campaign manager, Adam Nordell, who will emphasize how PFAS contamination touches several different issue areas (soil, water, health, equity, climate, products, etc.). The conversation will be moderated by Defend’s executive director, Emily Carey Perez de Alejo.
