For the past 5 years we’ve had the store open with music and zany demonstrations in the sail loft. This year we’ll be mooring ourselves amidst the tumult in a booth at the NW corner of our building, under our big sail loft sign on Jackson Street. It’ll be a booth like no other with ongoing demonstrations, traditional sights, sounds and smells, hanging hammocks and TASWENS the dory on display. You can even have Emiliano sew ya up your very own Itty Bitty Ditty Bag!
If you’re lucky, you can win a traditional sailor’s hammock, handsewn by Emiliano, in our Big Hammock Raffle. An exquisite and stout $1,200 hammock could be yours for a mere ten bucks! See the hammock and purchase tickets at the shop or at our booth during the Wooden Boat Festival. Need not be present to win. The big drawing will be held on Sunday, the 7th of September, the last day of the festival.
From the festival entrance, follow your nose north, along Jackson Street, as the smells of tradition: pine tar, bee’s wax, cotton and hemp lead you to Pine Tar Alley and The Artful Sailor's booth.
All the tools, kits, books and clothing on The Artful Sailor website, and other wonderful things that are only available in the shop, will be in our booth at the festival.
