We welcome back Andrew Kercher to give a fabulous lecture on the Great Thumb Fires of 1871 and 1881!

Ourselves will also be present giving a musical opener of songs with the Theme of Michigan, the Thumb and feature song on the fires themselves!

The Thumb fire of 1871 is little heard of as it happened the same night as the Great Chicago Fire while the 1881 fire led to the birth of one of the most important aid organizations in the world and revealed ancient secrets hidden under centuries of brush and overgrowth. Hear the stories of these forgotten tragedies and how they shape up still today.
