The Joe Center for the Arts is proud to present the debut of a magical Christmas story born right here in our community!
Join us as beloved local storyteller Robyn Rennick and artist Claire Ratliff share their new book, Roxy the Fox. For years, Robyn has enchanted our holiday audiences with her tales. Now, her most cherished family story is coming to the page for the very first time, brought to life by Claire’s stunning watercolor illustrations.
A Story 15 Years in the Making “‘Roxy the Fox was in trouble.’ That’s the line that has made four generations of my family lean in closer every Christmas,” says author Robyn Rennick. “For over 15 years, the story of Roxy and Granny Howard has been our tradition. When I decided to turn it into a book, I knew finding the perfect artist was everything.”
A Match Made at The Joe The search for an illustrator led Robyn to The Joe Center for the Arts, where she was introduced to Claire Ratliff. “Claire had spent time near my grandmother's home in southwest Virginia and instantly connected with the heart of the story,” Robyn explains. “It has been a match made in heaven. Her watercolors are pure magic.”
