Check out the Meerwald Mercantile while you are here featuring hand crafted items from several local artists and local authors. All proceeds go to support the Bayshore Center at Bivalve, home of AJ Meerwald and the Delaware Bay Museum.

“Since retiring from a career in maritime museums in 2021, I have spent as much time as possible exploring the Delaware Watershed, photographing and filming as I walk or kayak. This presentation showcases our waterways from historical and environmental perspectives and offers some insights into their current state.”
John Brady recently retired from a long career in maritime museums and ship preservation nonprofits. He has worked at South Street Seaport Museum, The Philadelphia Ship Preservation
Guild, and the Independence Seaport Museum. For thirty-two of these years, he was a boat builder and shipwright. Under his leadership, the Independence Seaport Museum’s boat shop
rose to national prominence while focusing on constructing and preserving New Jersey and Delaware River watercraft. Following this, he became President and CEO of the Independence
Seaport Museum, a post he held for ten years. More recently he served as the interim CEO of the Bayshore Center at Bivalve for six months. John has published in WoodenBoat, Sea History, and Power Ships.
