Reel Justice: Lefties - Property Is Theft

This month, we’re screening Lefties: Property Is Theft - a documentary which looks at Villa Road, a squatted street during the heyday of squatting, and the people that lived there.

The Villa Road Street Group (as they were known) lived by the principles of communal living and collective action, and through a combination of interviews and archival footage they show us how community came together for each other to defend their homes.

With the current cost of living and housing crisis looming ever larger, this documentary is a chance for us to not just look into the way progressive communities survived in the past, but to learn lessons and get ideas for how we can build structures of support for our community moving forward.

Tickets are $10 or free if cost is a barrier (no questions asked).
