Auditions for Pets (and Their Humans) will be on Dec 10 and 11 at 5pm at the Bay Club in the Card/Classroom.
Pets (and Their Humans): When Brad’s wife dies, he finds solace by talking to his pets. But what happens when his pets start talking back? Is Brad going crazy or can he actually talk to animals? A quirky, poignant comedy that will encourage audiences to rethink the role of pets in their lives Written by Mike Sockol and winner of the New Jersey Association of Community Theater’s Perry Award for Best Original Play.
Characters
Brad: widower and veterinarian. Age 30-60ish
Titina: a female dog, owned by Brad
Stefanie: a cable TV hostess. Age 25-60ish. Should be similar in age to Brad.
Scout: a puppy, owned by Stefanie.
Mac: a male cat, owned by Brad (should be older than Titina).
Cassie: Brad's preteen daughter
Barb: Brad's teenage daughter
Details...
-The actors who play the pets will need to be physically capable of getting up and down off the floor easily.
-Youth actors are encouraged to audition. If no kids audition,adults will be cast as the daughters.
-People do not have to be at both nights of auditions.
-Rehearsals will start Jan 13th and run every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7:45pm at the Bay Club.
-Performances are April 17-19 and 24-26.
