American composer and trumpet player, Joel Ricci, is better known as his deep funk muse and alter ego "Lucky Brown". Through dozens of 45rpm singles released by boutique German record label, Tramp Records, his raw vernacular writing and recording style have made their way into the collections of discerning Djs all over the world. What remains a mystery, however, is his myriad other rhythmic jazz recordings produced in tandem with professional recording engineers. The Westsound Archive represents the cream of Ricci's 20 year creative output, edited and curated into a semi chronological set with the needs of today's moving visual image makers in mind.
