As autumn descends, the nights grow longer, the days shorter, the mornings heavy with fog, and the chill clings to the air. Leaves wither and fall, while mushrooms push through the damp earth. With the season comes Samhain, the turning of the year and the final harvest.
From the weeds of a pagan’s yard, the Haunting took root — rising again and again, returning each year stronger than before in the Alberni Valley. Its story runs deep, stretching back to the darkest chapters of humanity. It lingered on battlefields where knights lay broken and bloodied, in muddy streets crawling with vermin, and in shadowed dungeons echoing with the cries of the lost and the tortured. It was already there — watching the last breath of the dying, spreading with the Plague.
Now it rises once more. Will the people of Alberni endure this siege — this new invasion of the Haunting upon their peaceful lives?
