Working alongside Greater Wellington Regional Council, local iwi and council members, we have been granted permission from the local land owners to restore native forests on their whenua! Amazing work has already been done, from corporate groups across the region trekking up the hills to make a difference for our environment.
This project aims to bring Wellingtonians together by restoring the hillsides and riparian margins of the Belmont Regional Park restoration planting and community engagement. We will bring back the native forest and help create an ecological corridor for wildlife to travel between Wellington, Porirua, Kāpiti and the Hutt Valley.
TRANSPORT IS PROVIDED - BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL. Please enquire for availability as seats are limited - if you have not been in touch to reserve a seat, we can not guarantee a spot for you.
AGAIN PLEASE READ YOUR EMAIL AND IF YOU NEED A RIDE, EMAIL AND GET ONE SORTED.
Gloves, tools, and training are also provided by us.
All we ask you to bring/wear are: sturdy boots/shoes, long sleeves, and long trousers, a full water bottle and lunch/snacks. Warm jacket and beanie are highly recommended for this project.
