Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

Learn how to prune your fruit trees to keep them healthy and productive during this hands-on workshop. There will be a short presentation indoors on tree health, pruning techniques, and tool safety.

We will then put your knowledge to work on a small orchard next door. After the pruning practice, we can all return to the warmth of Poland Provisions for warm beverages and additional questions.

Cost:
Members: Free
Non-Members: $15.00 (paid at the door)

Some tools will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own pruning shears and loppers if you have them. Please wear appropriate clothing for the snow.

About our instructor: Jeremy Samson is a local landscaping professional and former California Master Gardener. He specializes in pollinator and edible landscapes, has spoken on panels at Cal State Fullerton and UCLA discussing the benefits of community agriculture and local food access, and has taught pruning, composting, and permaculture for over 10 years. When he isn't working in flower gardens along the southern Maine coast, he spends his time with his partner managing the chickens, goats, pigs, veggie gardens, and trees of Moonrise Hollow Farm.
