Bulgarian Martenitsa Making Workshop

Every year on March 1 and several days afterwards, all Bulgarians adorn themselves with Martenitsas, a centuries-old tradition linked to the end of winter and the arrival of spring.

Martenitsa is decoration made of red, white, and red and white twisted threads, which symbolize health and happiness and act as good luck charms against evil spirits.
