The Dance Palace proudly presents an intimate night of modern folk music from two artists with deep West Marin roots.

Like a sword pulled from the sea, Slake’s front person Mary Claire has a voice that feels plucked from the realms of ancient lore, forbidden love, and quenched thirst. This bay-area-based artist moves and performs along the water’s edge, creating a melodic sense of belonging in the transient nature of each story crafted. Their debut album Let’s Get Married carves out and embodies a genre that can only be defined as "lesbian doom-folk."

Freight Train Lady is the song-conjuring project of Gabi Orion + friends. Born, raised, and returned to the Northern California coast.
