So Saturday, September 13, of this year, will be here before we know it. Having experienced the lunch cruise with this company, I know that this dinner cruise will be a lot of fun. Yes it is five hours as I thought to extend it by an additional hour so that we have time to connect with each other without having the need to do the old Irish exit or, alternatively, feel rushed. The first few hours will be be taken up with chatting, enjoying cocktails, sampling the hors d’oeuvres and then having dinner, which will be buffet style. Also, we will be looking out of the windows and also headed outside to just look at the view! Before you know it, we’ll only have two hours left. At that point, some of us may continue talking or maybe will want to hear some music and carry on the upper floor. Who knows! The point is to make this 40th reunion memorable, fun and about reconnecting with those we haven’t in a long time and also strengthening the bond with whom we have connected.
I will shortly be giving Sherri more info so you can see what food and what drinks will be provided. Any extra money will go to upgrading the drink package and looking for a DJ.
The cost is $190 per person, which includes the private boat so it is just us, all food and all drinks! Please reach out to me as to payment, which can be made via Zelle, PayPal, Venmo or personal check. *There are no refunds.*. On all of the former, use my phone number and it’s Michelle DaRe
We will be cruising the Manasquan River so anyone that has any type of motion sickness should not have any issues. I say this as somebody who does have motion sickness. When I was on the lunch cruise, there were 30 to 40 mph south winds and while the boat was moving, I did not have any issues and I had not taken anything for it because I wanted to be sure to experience this so I could relay it to those of us who do suffer from this.
The boat will depart at 5 PM that Saturday so everyone should be at the dock by 4:30 as they will pull out at five. We will return at 10 PM. What’s great about this particular time is that we will experience daylight, then sunset and then nighttime. I’m hoping for clear skies and a full moon. They’ve only ever had to reschedule one time in the last almost 40 years and that was due to a hurricane that hit that day. Being that we are cruising the river, we should have little issues. If it’s raining and windy as all hell we still go. So, note to all the women, pay attention to your footwear that day! Further, dress causally or however you want! The idea is relaxed and fun. Ladies, the wind will destroy any hair when outside so wear it up or let it rip about.
As you can see in the picture that Sherri provided, there are two floors to this boat. We intend to have the bottom floor with tables set up for food. That’s where the larger bar is as well as the two bathrooms. Upstairs there’s another bar and that’s where there’ll be some tables set up for chatting , drinks, etc. Again, the whole boat will be ours that evening.
The River Queen is in Brielle, New Jersey, which is located between Manasquan and Point Pleasant. The actual address is 800 Ashley Avenue, Brielle, New Jersey. You can park right there or take a taxi/Uber from wherever you’re staying. There are many places to stay from Point Pleasant up to Asbury Park and there are plenty of taxis available as there are Ubers. Being that this is after Labor Day it’ll be much much easier to find places to stay and it should be less expensive. It will be a fun weekend even if the weather will not agree with us.
Last time to purchase tickets is June 15, 2025. First come, first serve. We have open spots as of now.
Get your asses down the shore already!
