InRhythm invites you to experience the magic of West Africa with the one and only Sibo Bangoura—a master drummer, griot, and cultural ambassador direct from Guinea, now based in Sydney. This special event features two immersive workshops designed to uplift, energise, and inspire.
African Drumming Workshop – 90 mins
Open to all levels, this high-energy session will explore the heart-pounding rhythms of West Africa. Whether you’re brand new to the drum or a seasoned hand, Sibo’s warm and encouraging teaching style will meet you where you’re at and guide you deeper into groove, technique, and connection. Drum hire available.
African Dance Workshop – 90 mins
Feel the beat come alive in your body as you move to live drumming in this joyful, beginner-friendly African dance session. Sibo will get you engaged, smiling, and deeply immersed in rhythm. No dance experience needed—just the willingness to move, have fun, and feel the joy of cultural expression.
Come for one or stay for both!

About Sibo Bangoura:
Born into a lineage of griots in Guinea, Sibo Bangoura brings a deep cultural authenticity to every rhythm he shares. A gifted performer and compassionate teacher, Sibo has brought his music to stages and classrooms around the world—including Japan, China, Singapore, and Thailand. His sessions are vibrant, educational, and full of heart.
