Supporting Learners in Clinical Practice Study day

This study day is designed to strengthen how we support learners in clinical settings, with a clear focus on three key priorities from the Safe Learning Environment Charter: Positive Identity, Raising Concerns, and Supervision.

The morning programme features inspiring lectures and keynote talks, setting the scene with expert insights on these priorities and highlighting the importance of embedding equality, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) into every aspect of practice. In the afternoon, delegates will take part in dynamic, interactive workshops, exploring real-world scenarios and practical strategies to create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments.

By the end of the day, participants will leave with enhanced confidence and tools to foster positive learner experiences andcontribute to a culture where learners feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.

The day begins with a series of four inspiring keynote sessions. Opening the programme, Carrie Biddle, Regional Head of Allied Health Professions, Psychological Professions and Healthcare Scientists at NHS England Southwest, will introduce the Safe Learning Environment Charter and its vision for supporting learners in practice. This will be followed by keynote talks exploring the Charter’s three core priorities: Positive Identity, Raising Concerns, and Supervision.

In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to choose from a range of interactive workshops led by experienced Practice Educators. These practical sessions will dive deeper into key themes, including Restorative Clinical Supervision, fostering positive identities, and addressing concerns in practice, providing delegates with tools and strategies to apply directly in their own settings.
