The Young Fables (TYF) are a dynamic Country/Pop and Roots music duo from Maryville, Tennessee, made up of Laurel Wright, a SHURE-endorsed vocalist, and Wes Lunsford, a southpaw guitarist endorsed by GRETSCH. Their sound blends classic storytelling with contemporary pop sensibilities, captivating audiences worldwide.
Known for their powerful live performances, The Young Fables have made it their mission to address difficult topics often reserved for the therapy couch, using their music to create open dialogue. As advocates for mental health awareness, they are dedicated to dismantling the stigma around mental health struggles, encouraging vulnerability and healing through their artistry. In recognition of their efforts, Laurel and Wes received the Troy Gentry Compassion Award in 2021, celebrating their kindness, commitment, and compassion.
The duo’s feature documentary, The Fable of a Song, which details their personal and professional journey, won the Nashville Film Festival Audience Choice Award and is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Musically, TYF's signature blend of roots and pop has drawn praise from industry legends such as Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, and Travis Tritt. Their work has landed them on Rolling Stone's "10 Best Country and Americana Songs of the Week", further solidifying their reputation in the music world. They’ve had the honor of supporting Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and Rascal Flatts and were personally invited by Shania Twain to showcase their talents on the CBS series Real Country. Additionally, the duo was named BMI & Texas Roadhouse’s Artists of the Month, leading to their music videos being featured in locations across the U.S.
Recently signing a publishing deal with BMG, 2025 promises to be a pivotal year for The Young Fables as they continue to build on their extensive catalog of music and tour in support of their fourth studio album, Short Stories, which is now available everywhere. The duo’s journey is just beginning, and they are more excited than ever to share their story with the world.
