With over 15 years’ experience as a professional performer and now an experienced vocal coach, Kate Clarke brings expert insight into how the voice works and how to use it effectively under pressure.
Throughout the session, participants will learn essential breathing techniques to support the voice, calm the nervous system and improve vocal control. Kate will guide you through a series of vocal and physical warm-ups to release tension, build vocal strength and prepare the body for confident speaking.
The workshop will include supportive group exercises, giving participants the opportunity to practise new skills in a safe and encouraging environment. These exercises are designed to help develop presence, improve communication and build confidence when speaking in front of others.
Participants will also gain practical tools to manage anxiety, project their voice clearly and feel more assured when preparing for future public speaking events, presentations or performances. By the end of the session, attendees will feel more grounded, vocally prepared and confident in their ability to speak publicly.
This workshop is part of Plymouth Culture's Creative Leadership Programme, and is suitable for any Plymouth based creative leader (definition below!) looking to improve their public speaking skills, whether for professional, personal or creative reasons.
