Join us at the Plymouth Public Library on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. for a special presentation highlighting the history, restoration, preservation, and ongoing maintenance of two of the South Shore’s most iconic beacons: Duxbury Pier Light (affectionately known as “Bug Light”) and The Plymouth Light Station (Gurnet Light, Fort Andrew, and the Keeper’s Cottage).
This program will explore the stories behind these remarkable landmarks, from the extensive work required to restore their historic integrity, to the dedicated preservation efforts that protect them from the elements, to the routine maintenance that keeps them standing strong today. Attendees will gain insight into the challenges and successes of stewarding these irreplaceable pieces of maritime heritage, and how these efforts ensure they continue to inspire and guide future generations.
Tickets for Project Gurnet & Bug Light: History and Preservation Talk can be booked here.
