The Phil Throws a Musical Party You Won’t Forget!
You’re going to love the guest list at this musical party! The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra—under the direction of Music Director Steven Karidoyanes—invites audiences to an unforgettable evening of spirited music, sparkling energy, and symphonic charm.
The celebration begins as Bartók breaks the ice with Romanian Folk Dances, full of mystery, drama, and irresistible rhythm. Then Mozart sweeps in with his Horn Concerto No. 2, a lively, imaginative conversation between horn and orchestra that’s full of wit and warmth. The Phil’s own Anne Howarth, Principal Horn, takes the spotlight as soloist.
Contemporary composer Gina Gillie offers a moment of reflection with Reverie, a tender and introspective work that feels like a quiet conversation between close friends. Finally, Beethoven crashes the party with his buoyant Symphony No. 8—vibrant, witty, and utterly joyful, a finale that ensures the evening ends on a high note.
