Charcoal in Motion Demonstration: Gary Davis’ Lion

Join us on the 7th of October for a rare, up-close look at Gary Davis, the well-known Knysna-based charcoal artist, as he reimagines his celebrated lion side profile - originally created at night and now part of a private collection in Germany. The original took two to three months to complete; for the festival, Gary is recreating half with fresh energy.

At the Grand Opening (Sat 4 Oct, 16h00-18h00), visitors were invited to sign the artwork; Gary will then complete it during his live demo taking place on Tuesday 7 October at 14h00-16h00 creating a collaborative piece that captures this moment in Plett’s art story.
