Hello Dog Sort lovers, it is almost Dryland Mushing season again! Dynamic Canines will be hosting a practice to help get the season started.
Dryland Mushing is a great sport for any size or breed of Dog that loves to pull and run. This event is open for all different levels of people and dogs who are wanting to participate in the sport. So whether you and your Dog are new to the sport and wanting to come out and learn and try it out or you and your dog are experienced in the sport and are wanting to come out and maybe work around distractions or be around others that also enjoy the sport this is the workshop for where you.
You will need special equipment for this sport. Probably the most important is a dog safe, pulling harness. Other equipment you may need is a bike, scooter, mushing rig, guidelines, bike antenna, caninecross running harness, eye protection, and helmet. Some equipment such as a bike, guidelines, mushing rig, and some sizes of dog safe pulling harnesses will be provided for people that do not have any and are wanting to come out and try the sport. Please keep in mind that I only have a few different sizes of harnesses due to the fact there are so many different sizes and breeds of dogs. Also, if you continue with the sport in the future, you will need your own equipment which we can help you find.
Please make sure to bring lots of water for yourself and your dog. Also, we suggest to make sure that your dog is up-to-date on their flea and tick preventative due to that we will be on a wooden trail. All dogs will be required to be on a leash and to stay appropriate distances from other dogs and people due to not everyone may be social. Please respect others space to help keep everyone safe.
The event will be held Saturday September 20th as long as weather permits. If it is too hot or if there are storms, we will reschedule. Keeping everyone safe is our first priority.
Our first practice is going to be held at Mopac Trail in Pleasant Hill Missouri. You are going to want to come to the south entrance off of Boardman Road to find parking. We will meet in the parking lot.
