We are very excited to host our 5th Annual Steps to Empowerment 5k (formerly Dash for SAS) at the US Oval in Plattsburgh on Sunday September 28th!
Registration/check-in tables will open at 8:00AM on the day of the event with the 5K run/walk starting at 9:00AM.
$25/person running or walking, $30 on race day.
The run/walk will start near the flag poles at the US Oval and continue down the Terry Gordon Bike Path and end back at the US Oval.
This is a dog-friendly event! Feel free to bring your friendly pup and register for the Puppy Paws Package ($5)! All pup registrants will receive a bandana, frisbee and a treat bag! We ask that you keep your dogs on leash & clean up after them.
All proceeds from the event will benefit our Sexual Assault Services Program and the communities we serve. Our SAS team provides free- confidential counseling, a 24/7 confidential hotline for victims & survivors of sexual assault, accompaniments to the hospital/police station/court and so much more.
We highly recommend wearing white for the color run to get the most colorful, we also highly recommend wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes! We will have various Plattsburgh State groups running the color tables, so we look forward to a fun filled day of color. Following the 5K we will have community agencies, cotton candy, tie dye, lawn games, snacks and more available for participants to take part in!
Each participant will receive a Steps to Empowerment t-shirt, as well as a swag bag upon completion of the race (while supplies last).
We will give out prizes to the top 3 finishers of the race.
