The 20th Annual Children’s BookFest is the perfect way to celebrate the start of Broward County Library's 2025 Summer Learning Program.
Our fun filled day will feature workshops, presentations, and the kickoff to Summer Fun - Color Our World! Register for a 2025 summer reading challenge, enter to win great prizes, and pick up your free book (while supplies last).
Free festival fun with facepainting, art, music and dance performances throughout the day, including:
-Young At Art Museum’s (YAA) Open Studio: Hands-on art experiences inspired by Yayoi Kusama and her love of dots to visitors of all ages.
-Musical Petting Zoo Adventure: Explore a variety of traditional Andean musical instruments plus make your own musical instrument while supplies last.
-Ms. Tracy Sings: Tracy Kahn has been teaching early childhood music classes since 2004. Her formal training to teach young children comes from the internationally acclaimed music program, Music Together®.
-Aunty Nadine and Friends present “Donkey Seh": a Jamaican Folklore performance. The story comes to life with puppets and props, and the characters join in music, song and dance.
-Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association presents Chinese Lion Dance Team.
-Capo Capoeira teaches the Brazilian martial art of capoeira, which incorporates kicks, fluid movements, acrobatics, and music.
-USVI Mocko Jumbie Stilt Dancers have been in existence since 1993, teaching kids ranging from the age of 4 and up the art of stilt dancing. The Art of stilt dancing was originated in West Ghana Africa over 200 years ago. They would wear these tall stilts to tower over the village to ward off any evil spirit they felt could harm their tribe.
-Mad Science of Palm Beach presents Fire and Ice: a spectacular show that thrills guests of all ages with exciting experiments and a little help from you. Participate in foggy dry ice storms and demonstrates how giant beach balls can float in the air. Be amazed by sizzling, shivering scissors and special bubbly showers!
