The 2026 Spring Heavy Trash Days are scheduled for April 11th and April 18th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Plainfield residents may bring acceptable heavy trash items to the designated dumpsters, entering at the Wastewater Department entrance at 990 S. Center Street.
Items accepted include just about everything except:
-Hazardous waste, including TVs, computer monitors, and items containing freon, such as refrigerators and freezers.
-Tires
-Building materials
-Yard waste
Residents may bring furniture to Heavy Trash Day; however, those bringing mattresses will have to dump them into the dumpster alone. For sanitary reasons, DPW staff will not handle such items. Residents should also remove gas and oil from mowers and leaf blowers.
Items containing Freon, such as refrigerators and freezers, computers, monitors, and televisions, will not be accepted, but they may be taken to Hendricks County Tox-Away Days. Tox-Away Days will be held at various Hendricks County Locations beginning May 2 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds and ending at Hummel Park, in Plainfield, on October 3rd from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 317-858-6070 for more information.
Document shredding will be available on the same days and times. The shredder will be set up in the parking lot of the Plainfield Community School Corporation Administration building (985 Longfellow Ln, Plainfield, IN 46168).
Please note: The Town’s Heavy Trash Days are only for the Town of Plainfield residents. Residents should bring identification with their address on it.
