This is an additional Coffee & Conservation session for December — separate from our regular monthly event at the Englewood Chamber.
For this special workshop, we’re heading outdoors to Don Pedro Island State Park to build Vertical Oyster Gardens with guest speaker Ashley Cook from CHEC.
This isn’t the usual sit-and-sip session. We’re rolling up our sleeves for a hands-on restoration activity — learning how oyster gardens improve water quality, enhance habitat, and support local marine life.
🌿 Learn: How vertical oyster gardens help clean coastal waters
🦪 Create: Build your own oyster garden with guidance from CHEC
☕ Enjoy: Complimentary coffee in the fresh salt air
🏝️ Location: Don Pedro Island State Park — our first C&C event hosted in the park!
💚 Cost: Free — donations to CHEC appreciated
What to Bring: Closed-toed shoes, bug spray, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and a lawn chair (seating is limited at the picnic tables). If you’ve ever wanted to take part in a restoration project, this is the perfect introduction. Let’s kick off our first Don Pedro field workshop together!
