Your voice matters! Join us for a community conversation where residents come together to share your thoughts on the future of The Christian Center!
Over the last 135 years, the core mission of The Christian Center has always been to strengthen and improve the lives of the people in our community. And while that mission has always been focused on providing basic necessities, we have also played other roles over the years; settlement house for immigrants, faith-based center for worship, daycare center, and community meeting place to name a few.
We feel that the time has come to rejuvenate our mission and to make sure we are offering the most inclusive, welcoming community space possible. We want everyone to come together, form connections, and think of this place as one where we all belong.
As a first step – we need to hear what our community has to say. We want to ensure that the Christian Center is providing services that the community needs now, and a new name that recognizes the rich history of the organization, but that belongs to the people coming in the doors today and in the years to come. So we’re asking YOU to help us create programs that make sense and find just the right name – a name that will help us begin a new chapter.
We invite you all to help us with these changes, and hope that you will build on that by joining us for events, coming into the newly renovated space, and sharing your ideas.

Durante los últimos 135 años, la misión principal de The Christian Center siempre ha sido fortalecer y mejorar la vida de las personas en nuestra comunidad. Y aunque esa misión se ha enfocado en brindar necesidades básicas, también hemos cumplido muchos otros roles a lo largo de los años: casa de acogida para inmigrantes, centro de fe y adoración, guardería y espacio de reunión comunitaria, entre otros.
Creemos que ha llegado el momento de renovar nuestra misión y asegurarnos de ofrecer un espacio comunitario lo más inclusivo y acogedor posible. Queremos que todos se reúnan, formen conexiones y vean este lugar como uno al que todos pertenecemos.
Como primer paso, necesitamos escuchar a nuestra comunidad. Queremos asegurarnos de que The Christian Center esté ofreciendo los servicios que la comunidad necesita hoy y también encontrar un nuevo nombre que reconozca la rica historia de la organización, pero que represente a las personas que entran por nuestras puertas ahora y en el futuro. Por eso te pedimos a TI que nos ayudes a crear programas que tengan sentido y a encontrar el nombre ideal: un nombre que nos ayude a comenzar un nuevo capítulo.
Te invitamos a ser parte de estos cambios y esperamos que también nos acompañes en nuestros eventos, visites el espacio recién renovado y compartas tus ideas.
