Come to a Song Circle for the People ritual art fire circle from 7:30-9:30ish where we will drum, dance, sing, and circle the fire, co-creating a mixture of spoken word, song, poetry, dance, drum, and spooky costumes! Fire spinners are welcome to spin in an area on the perimeter of the circumbulating circle, and at times we will clear to circle to make way for fire spinning in the center. The circle will start with offerings to the land spirits, intentions for our All Hallows Eve—what are we letting go of to make room for the new? What can we offer to the flames that is not serving us anymore? What ancestors, guides, and beings who are no longer with us do we remember during this time?
The circle is open to anyone with a desire to deeply listen and co-create with the other. Spectators are allowed to watch the magic within happening, but encouraged to save the airwaves for what is taking place in circle. With enough help with fire tending and wood, we hope to have a second fire a little off for hanging out and chilling, one for circle and music making.
The second half of our evening will unfurl a little wilder—inviting in Dionysian energetics—libations, dance, frivolity, and fun! Come and circle to artist acts TBD, 9:30-11:30.
This All Hallows eve, go from the contained, rich, discerning energy of a ritual art fire circle to the expansive, playful, joyful Dionysian second half of our circle. Drummer, fire tenders, fire spinners, singers, freestyle flow, poets, storytellers—we need you! Your voice and your story are worthy of being heard.
This is a donation based event. Suggested donation $20-30, no one turned away for lack of funds. There will be eventbrite tickets you can purchase, or a donation hat there to support the music therapy work of Genevieve ‘Water Song’ Wallis and the musical stylings of James ‘Earthworm’ Bristol.
I’m so excited to circle with you on Halloween night! Yay!
If you strongly feel that this should be Saturday instead of Friday, say so on here and if enough people want it, we can change it to that Saturday.
