Join us on Thursday, October 9, for a Distinguished Lecture at the Scott Institute for Energy Innovation, featuring Gordon van Welie, President and CEO of ISO New England.

Mr. van Welie will discuss New England’s ongoing energy transition as the region looks ahead to 2050. He will share insights from ISO New England’s economic study, Economic Planning for the Clean Energy Transition, including:

• Forecasted load growth and trends in resource additions and retirements
• Challenges for achieving resource adequacy through a wholesale market structure
• Reflections on the original assumptions behind the move to competitive markets, including wholesale and retail competition, supply-side and demand-side solutions, transmission planning, energy adequacy, and the electric–gas system interdependencies
