Dive into the art of book binding in this immersive, instructor-led, 8-week experience. Each session is 3 hours long, allowing plenty of hands-on time to learn, create, and transform your favorite reads into beautifully rebound hardcovers. This is a bring-your-own-books course, and your registration includes materials to rebind up to 5 books. (Additional costs may apply depending on your chosen materials—such as linen, leather, specialty papers, etc.)
What You’ll Learn Each Week:
Week 1: Preparing your books, removing old covers, learning structural basics, and planning your full project set.
Week 2: Painting book edges—guided, stenciled, or freestyled—and starting your custom hardcovers.
Week 3: Finish edge painting and continue building your hardcovers.
Week 4: Complete your hardcover construction and begin designing the exterior.
Week 5: Paint your covers (optional), create design layouts, and cut custom vinyl for your books.
Week 6: W**d vinyl designs and finish prepping each text block with end pages.
Week 7: Bring everything together as you assemble your hardcovers and text blocks.
Week 8: Final detailing, embellishments, touch-ups, and troubleshooting—your books come to life!
Our artists will guide you step-by-step, offering help whenever you need it (or saving a project if something goes sideways). We recommend starting with a beloved series like ACOTAR, but you’re welcome to bring any books you’d love to upgrade.
If your chosen series includes more than five books, additional days can be added for a fee.
Bring your creativity, your books, and your snacks and drinks—this is BYOB and fully hands-on from start to finish.
You will choose between Monday night or Wednesday night for the next 8 weeks.
