CREATE A NO-MOW LAWN
Saturday, September 20, 2025
10 am - 11 am
Presenter: Nancy Levine, Vice President, Highland Park Garden Club
Location: A neighbor's yard, Highland Park neighborhood
Are you tired of mowing, fertilizing and weeding your grass lawn? Of watching it turn brown when there hasn't been enough rain? Are you worried about the negative environmental impact of your grass lawn? This program will tour a "No-Mow" yard in Highland Park, presenting a brief history of the grass lawn, the reasons not to have one (or to make yours smaller) and low maintenance options to replace it.
The program will be a combination of indoor slide show and outside tour. Please keep the weather conditions in mind in choosing a hat and clothing.
Nancy Levine is Vice-President and a founding member of the Highland Park Garden Club, a Master Gardener and a lifelong environmentalist. She is on the Board of The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy and is a volunteer for Tree Pittsburgh.
This program is part of the "Highland Park Garden Club Presents..." , a series of monthly programs designed to entertain and educate about gardening-related topics. Programs are free to HPGC members. Nonmembers are welcome to attend with an donation through Eventbrite ($10 suggested). All are welcome to join the club. Annual dues are $20. Membership information can be found on the club website: www.hpgcpgh.org.
