MONDAY AUG 25 - WYEP 91.3 & Straub Brewing Presents: AcoustiCafe Open Stage with host Shawn MacIntyre ft Katie Beth Kirby & Zach Funk!!
THEME: "Cover Each Other .. and Mayhem"
We have an amazing local music scene and some awesome artists that attend Acousticafe', instead of doing one of your songs,
Option A: cover one of their songs, or reimagine one of their songs!
Option B: Cover a song by a famous Pittsburgh Musician.
If you plan to cover someone, please email Shawn and let him know (we want to avoid repeats)
Does none of that fit your fancy? Our secondary theme is Mayhem!
Here are the Mayhem choices: (These options are also available for Comedians and Spoken Word artists)
Option A: Flip a coin to see if the House band is going to play with you, or not.
Option B: Roll the dice to see which (singular) band member you will get to accompany you.
Option C: Roll a D10 to play with the random mayhem chart (this will be posted in the discussion of the event before Monday)
One more important thing to know, NO ONE (Except the Under 21's and Host/ Feature) are picking spots on Monday!!! The spots will be randomly selected by the computer.
SNOWBALLS of LOVE: Everyone is asked to support the artists you enjoy by throwing Snowballs of Love at the stage to show how much you love your friends on stage.
Our host this week is Shawn MacIntyre! Shawn loves depressing songs, songs of tragedy and dirges. Shawn also loves to stretch his vocal talents with songs from the past 500 years and performs songs from the 1500s to the 2000s.
Our First Feature is Katie Beth Kirby! Katie is a soprano who specializes in Opera and Musical Theatre. She is known for her work with the Pittsburgh Savoyards as an actress, vocalist, and director and is celebrating 30 years on the stage! Katie is also a troupe member of I Pierogi, Pittsburgh's Premiere Commedia dell Arte' troupe. Instagram: @katiekirbysoprano
Our Second Feature is comedian Zach Funk! Zach is a nominee for Pittsburgh Best Comedian from the Pittsburgh City Paper. Zach will be hosting a comedy benefit for the American Foundation for Suicide prevention at Bottlerocket Social Hall on September 11th. Zach will also be recording a live comedy album at the Funhouse at Mr. Small's on Saturday, September 6: ZACH FUNK - FARCE LIVE RECORDING | Mr Smalls
AC SHOW DETAILS:
Doors open downstairs in Mr Smalls Café at 5 pm for checkin, Signups begin around 6:30pm, show from 7pm until 11pm. Full sound and light system with backline (drums, keys, guitar and bass amp) available, and a house band to back you up if you want!
