This is a general fun reading for The Height of the Storm, which is Proscenium’s March 2026 production (play week commencing 14 March, performances 18-21 March 2026 at Compass Theatre, Ickenham). Rehearsals will begin on 6th January and will be Tues/Thurs evening and Saturday mornings as usual. The play is by Florian Zeller (translated by Christopher Hampton), and will be directed by Lynette Alston.
This reading is open to everyone, whether you are a member of Proscenium or not, and takes place at Harrow Arts Centre.
If you are involved in the production you will need to be a paid-up member of Proscenium, as well as pay a rehearsal sub. This helps us cover some of the basic costs of running the society. We aim to keep our subs low, to ensure everyone can afford to be part of Proscenium - if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the committee.
General Reading for fun on Sunday 17th August 2.30pm (Gainsborough Room)
Casting Reading 1: Tuesday 26th August 8pm (Lowry Room)
Casting Reading 2: Wednesday 17th September 8pm (Lowry Room)
All readings take place at Harrow Arts Centre.
A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
This contemporary play is a real brain teaser, with emotional intensity and intriguing mystery at its atmospheric heart. It is the story of André and Madeleine who have been in love for over fifty years. One weekend, as their daughters visit, something feels unusual. An anonymous bunch of flowers arrives; a woman from the past turns up and for André it feels like he isn’t there at all.
The Times described the West End’s 2018 production, starring Jonathan Pryce and Eileen Atkins, as ‘Deeply moving. A play that takes us to the edge of what it is to love’.
A play for 4 women & 2 men, there is a mix of ages within the cast so everyone is welcome to the readings.
I will also be looking for a full back stage team, so if you’re interested in that please also do come along to a reading. If you can’t make it, please direct message us on Facebook to get in touch.
