Hi Folks,
With the smoke indexes and temperature looking pretty good for Sunday, let's venture out to Pike National Forest for a run around the Little Scraggy Loop. If you haven't done it before, this is a really nice trail and worth the trip out.
The parking lot does have a $7 parking fee, and it might be advisable to bring a check and cash - I'm not sure what they take. You can also park for free at the side of Deckers Road.
Let's plan to meet at the Twin Forks Park-and-Ride on 285 and carpool from there. We'll plan to leave the park-and-ride at 7am and that should get us to the Little Scraggy trailhead for 7:45, ready to run at 8:00.
We'll start out counter-clockwise, initially following a portion of the Colorado Trail, before splitting off on the Little Scraggy trail. The full loop is around 12.5 miles, with around 1500' of vert, but there's always the option to shorten things by doing an out and back.
As always, everyone is welcome and we'll make sure no-one gets lost. I'll be running at a relaxed pace.
