I’m hosting a beginner’s crochet class! The cost of the class is $15.
We’ll go over:
1. The best yarns for crochet beginners
2. What you need to know about crochet hooks
3. 12 essential crochet tools
4. How to read a crochet pattern
5. Learn how to crochet
Everyone will be provided an information/instruction booklet that contains all the basic information you need to get started (and much more!) along with a printed crochet pattern for the headband.
Everyone will need to bring:
1. 1 skein #4 Medium weight yarn (Minimum 65 yards)
2. Crochet hook (Size 6 mm or J-10)
3. Darning needle (optional, but you’ll need it to finish the headband)
4. A button or other embellishment (optional)
TIP FOR YARN CHOICE:
- Try to avoid highly textured yarns (such as eyelash, boucle, or metallic blends), dark colored yarn, or variegated (highly patterned) yarn
- Look for a yarn with neutral or pastel color such as sage green, light tan, or medium brown. Solid colored yarn is the easiest to see your stitches.
Here is the yarn I like at Hobby Lobby:
