Guest Speaker at Club's Monthly Meeting

Public is invited! Shilpa Rasmusson will be our Guest Speaker at the November 5th General Meeting. 5:30pm is Social Time and Appetizers (meal?!). 6:00pm Meeting Starts. Our speaker is from NAMI Amador (the Amador County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness) and has been the Secretary there for the last six years.
"Here in Amador, we provide support groups for peers and their families, and provide mental health education classes for both those categories of people. We also work towards taking the stigma away from living with mental health challenges by speaking about our lived experience at local events and meetings."
The weekly peer support group "Connection" is at the Amador Senior Center every Thursday from 1-2:30 pm. The Sierra Wind group meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 pm. The other twice-a-month group meets at our Upcountry 88 Lions' meeting place, the Clubhouse at Pine Grove Mobile Home Estates, every 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 5-6:30 pm.
