🎻 The Third Annual Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival Returns October 24–25, 2025

Pickens, SC — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce, in proud partnership with Hagood Mill Historic Site and Holly Springs Center, is thrilled to announce the return of the Third Annual Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival, taking place October 24–25, 2025, at Hagood Mill Historic Site (138 Hagood Mill Rd., Pickens, SC).
This beloved two-day festival honors and celebrates the deep-rooted traditions, stories, and culture of the Appalachian region—particularly those found in Northern Pickens County and the Upstate of South Carolina. Attendees will experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Appalachia in an unforgettable setting steeped in history and natural beauty.
The festivities kick off Friday evening with lively bluegrass performances under the stars, setting the tone for a weekend filled with community spirit and cultural pride. On Saturday, the festival comes to life with a full lineup of traditional and folk music, handcrafted goods from regional artisans, and mouthwatering Appalachian cuisine prepared by local vendors.

Friday, October 24:
* Big Eyes Parker – A powerhouse blues and roots performer, known for blending Appalachian storytelling with swampy grooves and soulful energy.
* Swamp Rabbit Bluegrass Band – Upstate SC's own bluegrass veterans bringing traditional harmonies and high-energy string picking.
Saturday, October 25:
* Pretty Little Goat – A modern string band from Brevard, NC, blending old-time tradition with fresh, original Appalachian-inspired compositions.
* Creekwater Collective – Young Appalachian Musicians' performance group, preserving the musical heritage of the region through youthful talent.
* Bailey George and the Hit Paraders – A vintage country and rockabilly band serving up 1950s sounds with twangy flair and honky-tonk swagger.
* Bluegrass and Company – Crowd-pleasing local favorites known for their toe-tapping tunes, family-friendly performances, and deep bluegrass roots.
